PetFest and Adoption Day Sept. 26 At Roosevelt Field Mall

Games and activities for pets and their parents, plus dogs and cats available for adoption

North Shore Animal League of America and Canine Company will join forces on Saturday, Sept. 26 to bring a combined adoption day and petfest to Roosevelt Field shopping mall in Garden City. Bloomingdale’s will host the event from noon to 4 pm in the parking area outside its main entrance. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome to attend the event with their parents. 

North Shore Animal League of America will bring its mobile adoption unit and more than two dozen dogs, cats, puppies and kittens for adoption to permanent loving homes. Staff will be available to process adoption applications on site throughout he afternoon.

Canine Company will offer free activities for pets and pet-lovers including a family photo booth and doggy paw printing; doggy spa services like decorative stenciling, hair feathering and color nail polish; and doggy ice cream treats.  There will also be a kids activity area with paw tattoos and activities.  At the end of the afternoon, Canine Company will hold a drawing for a free Invisible Fence® brand pet containment system and free Manners obedience training sessions.

To encourage adoptions, Canine Company will reimburse the adoption fee for anyone who purchases an Invisible Fence® brand system within three months of the event.
